The Terry White Hobart Chargers are set for another stellar year after signing exciting 26 year old US import, Brandon Polk for their 2010 season. The 201cm, 93kg centre/forward hails from Witchita, Kansas, where he attended Butler University featuring in the line up for the All Horizon League Second team. Brandon is set to dominate during this year’s SEABL roster, after his successful stint with Karhu Finland, in which he averaged 16.6 points per game at 69.5%, along with an average of 8.8 rebounds per 33 minute game. Head Coach, Anthony Stewart, is confident Brandon will boost the already dominant player group, after replacing club veteran Mark Nash after his retirement in 2009: “We needed to bring someone in to help cover the loss of club stalwart, Nashy. I believe that Brandon will compliment the young group of players and also give us the best opportunity to secure another championship.” Brandon will join Chuck Long, as Hobart’s second American import, with both assisting to bolster the identity of the sport in Hobart through development and community projects, such as 3 on 3 events, Aurora in Schools program participation, school camps and midnight basketball projects. The Terry White Hobart Chargers are excited to welcome Brandon to the team and are looking forward to an action-packed season, commencing Friday March 12th at Aurora Stadium. |
